Day 1: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley

• Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m).

• Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage ksar and film location.

• Stop in Ouarzazate – optional visit to Atlas Studios or Taourirt Kasbah.

• Pass through the Valley of Roses and reach the Dades Valley.

•  Overnight in a hotel/guesthouse in Dades Gorges.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

• Explore the Dades Valley’s “monkey fingers” rock formations.

• Drive to the Todra Gorges – a paradise for hikers and climbers.

• Journey through desert towns like Erfoud and Rissani.

• Arrive at Merzouga, where your camel caravan will take you into the Erg Chebbi dunes.

•  Overnight in a desert camp under the stars.

• 🍽️ Traditional dinner, Berber drumming, and sunrise/sunset over dunes.

Day 3: Sahara Exploration Day (Merzouga area)

• Wake for sunrise over the dunes.

• Visit Khamlia village to hear Gnawa music.

• Explore the black desert in a 4×4: fossil beds, nomad camps, and desert wells.

• Optional visit to the Rissani market or palm oasis near Merzouga.

•  Overnight in a hotel or riad in Merzouga area.

  Day 4: Merzouga → Erfoud → Ziz Valley → Midelt

  • Morning: After breakfast (and an optional sunrise if in a desert camp), depart Merzouga.

  • Erfoud: Stop to visit a fossil workshop or date market (optional).

  • Ziz Valley: Drive along one of Morocco’s most scenic valleys, with a stop for panoramic views over the lush palm groves.

  • Lunch stop en route (usually in Errachidia or along the Ziz Gorges).

  • Cross the High Atlas foothills.

  • Midelt: Arrive in the late afternoon.

    • Small town at the foot of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

  •  Overnight stay in Midelt (hotel or guesthouse).

  • 🍽️ Dinner & breakfast included.

    Day 5: Midelt → Cedar Forest (Azrou) → Ifrane → Fes

    • Morning: Depart Midelt and head into the Middle Atlas Mountains.

    • Azrou: Stop at the cedar forest to see wild Barbary macaques.

    • Ifrane: Visit the alpine-style town known as “Little Switzerland” for a short walk and photos.

    • Scenic drive through rolling hills and forests.

    • Arrival in Fes: Afternoon drop-off at your hotel or riad.
